After an early morning pick up, the Tour heads north to Cape Cross Seal colony. We view small settlements, Lichens shipwrecks and thousands of Cape Fur Seals. We get really close, so we can smell them, hear them and almost touch them. We backtrack and head into the Namib desert towards Spitzkoppe having a small lunch along the way. The road leads us past locals selling Tourmaline, Garnet, Aquamarine and the other semi-precious crystals for some interesting buys. Spitzkoppe reveals its age through bushman paintings and interesting walks over age-old geologically handsome dolomite rocks and views.
It’s awesome. Its vast. Its picturesque!
We book in at the tented Camp and enjoy a barbeque in the clean fresh air. The beautiful sunsets call for that special sundowner moment. A must to experience. The pinkie orange setting sun gives way to the clear night sky revealing the Southern Cross, Scorpio and other interesting stars. The milky way its bright, its huge, it’s amazing.
After breakfast we leave the beautiful Spitzkoppe and head for the 500-million-year-old Moonlandscape and 1500-year- Welwitschia Mirabilis plants. The road leads us through Goanikontes, past lichen fields and back to Swakopmund.
After a long and incredibly fun filled 2-day tour you welcome the sunset in Swakopmund. An experience long to be cherished and never to be forgotten.
